1974

第１回 海外演奏旅行はイタリアとフランスでした。滝野川、つつじヶ丘、藤枝との混成合唱団でしたが、はじめての海外だったので、なにもかもが新鮮でした。イタリアの教会の回廊を歌声が回っていくのを聴いて、ヨーロッパの歴史や文化を感じました。

Our 1st concert tour abroad was to Italy and France, which was a multiple choirs' joint tour. As we had never been abroad, everything was very impressive. What was really memorable was that our voices soared to the high ceiling in an Italian church as we had never experienced anything similar in Japan. 

 

1978

この年の15周年記念演奏会から15年間にわたり、ほぼ毎年ヘルムート・ドイチュ先生にピアノを弾いていただくという幸運に恵まれ、音楽的に大きな大きな宝物をいただきました。

From this year's 15th anniversary concert, we had the amazing luck to be accompanied by Pianist Mr.Helmut Deutsch almost every year until our 30th anniversary, which gave us a tremendous amount of musical gifts.

 

1979

第２回 海外演奏旅行はオーストリア（ウィーンとザルツブルク）で、小田原単独では初めての海外でした。15周年からピアノを弾いて下さったヘルムート・ドイチュ先生のお宅に全員でお邪魔したり、ウィーン青少年音楽祭コンクールで４位入賞したり、沢山の大切な思い出が出来ました。ザルツブルクの教会では17年後の1996年と、27年後の2006年に再び演奏しています。

Our 2nd concert tour abroad was to Austria (Vienna and Salzburg). We were all invited to visit our pianist Mr.Helmut Deutsch in his Viennese flat, and we were also awarded 4th place at the Vienna International Youth Music Festival Competition. In 1996 and 2006, we went back to perform in the same church in Salzburg where we sang for this tour.

 

1983

第３回海外演奏旅行はハンガリー（ブダペスト）とイタリア（アレッツォ）でした。共産時代のハンガリーは兵士が町の中に大勢いましたが、人々が温かく、私たちの大好きな国となりました。イタリア・アレッツォのコンクールでは児童合唱部門３位に入賞し、このコンクールをきっかけにルネサンスの曲をレパートリーに加えるようになりました。

Our 3rd concert tour abroad was to Hungary(Budapest) and Italy(Arezzo). There were many soldiers in Budapest as it was under communist rule, but people were kind, so Hungary became one of our most favourite countries. We were awarded 3rd place in the Children's Choir Category at the Arezzo International Choral Competition in Italy. Since then, we started to add Renaissance pieces to our repertoire.

 

1985

同年に高校生のメンバーと卒業生で結成した女声合唱団コール・マルベリー（現マルベリー・クワイア）が宝塚国際室内合唱コンテストで総合１位をいただきました。

Female Choir "Chor Mulberry" (currently "Mulberry Choir") was founded by highschool members and ex-members of our children's choir, and several months later, won the Grand-Prix at the Takarazuka International Chamber Chorus Contest, Japan. 

 

1986

コール・マルベリー（現マルベリー・クワイア）がテープ審査のみでハンガリーの「歌うコダーイ国際合唱コンクール」ユース部門第１位をいただきました。

Chor Mulberry (currently "Mulberry Choir") won 1st place in the Youth Choir Category at the Kodály Zoltán “Singing Youth” International Choral Competition in Hungary, which was a tape audition.

 

1986

第４回海外演奏旅行はハンガリーとオーストリアでした。コール・マルベリー（現マルベリー・クワイア）がテープ審査の国際合唱コンクールで１位入賞し、ハンガリーのコンクール委員会からニレジハーザでの授賞式に御招待いただきました。しかし、スケジュールの都合で小田原少年少女合唱隊が代演し、児童合唱部門１位のニレジハザ合唱団（現カンテムス）とジョイントコンサートをしました。インスブルックでは世界音楽教育者会議（ISME)に日本代表として参加し、フィンランドのヴォックスアウレア合唱団の素晴らしい演奏に大きな刺激をうけました。

Our 4th concert tour abroad was to Hungary and Austria. As "Chor Mulberry" (currently "Mulberry Choir") won 1st place at the above competition, the Hungarian competition committee invited us to a prize giving ceremony in Nyíregyháza. However, due to Mulberry Choir's unavailability, Odawara Children's Choir went there as a replacement and gave a joint concert with the Children's Choir Category's winner Nyíregyháza Children's Choir (currently "Cantemus"). At the ISME (International Society for Music Education) conference in Innsbruck, we represented Japan and were very much inspired by the fantastic performance of the "Vox Aurea" Children's Choir from Finland.
